Processed foods cannot create health and vitality. To to strengthen your energy eat alkaline foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, legumes and grains. Highly acidic foods such as flour-base cereals, meats, dairy and sugar will weaken and deplete your energy. BEcome more Radiant, eat food that grows, if it does not grow do not eat it!

Exercise is vital to health. Find some form of  movement you enjoy, such as yoga movement, walking, hiking and dancing. These types of exercise are wonderful to keep your body in shape and are also forms of grounding.

After eating the gamut of various food styles, I found Dr. Fuhrman's nutritarian lifestyle of eating offers a fantastic simple approach to eating. It is extremely high in micronutrients and alkaline. I have been following this plan since December 2009 and feel so much better. Even after eating healthy most of my adult life.

Below highlights the basic components
of Nutritarian eating rhythm:
  • Eat a large salad every day
  • Enjoy a generous serving of steamed greens with mushrooms and onions
  • Satisfy your sweet tooth with three fresh fruits a day
  • Have at least one fulfilling serving of beans each day
  • Avoid white flour & dairy
  • Avoid sugars & artificial sweeteners

Kale Delight (from Beautiful on Raw by Tonya Zavasta)

1 head of kale or chard
Juice of one lemon
Sea Salt to taste
2 cloves garlic, crushed
¼ c extra virgin olive oil
¼ c red onion, chopped very fine

Remove vein of kale or chard tear leaves into small, bite-size pieces.

Mix lemon, salt, garlic, olive oil, and onion together first. Then add to kale or chard. Massage the greens well. You should feel the texture change and the volume should appear smaller. Marinate in a glass container, in the refrigerator, for 4 hours or overnight.

Variations: I often eat this salad right away rather than wait the several hours to marinate. It is still quite tasty. This salad works well with any type of raw greens and other raw veggies can easily be added for great combinations. This recipe has been shared countless times and is always a great hit!

Lavender Lemonade

Juice of 7 lemons
Juice of 2 limes
14 c water
1 1/2 c Raw Blue Agave (can also use Maple Syrup)
1 drop lavender essential oil (Young Living Therapeutic-grade essential oil)

Mix all ingredients together and chill. Add more water or Blue Agave, depending on the size and tartness of the fruit.

Ginger Tea

Boil 4-6 thin slices of fresh ginger (un-peeled OK) in 2 cups of water, simmer for 20 minutes sweeten with honey or
pure maple syrup to taste or drink as is.

Great for warming and stimulating the digestion, calming to the nerves and wonderful for reproductive health.
My son Matthias, 7 years old, is now making his own smoothies. Here is his own version and his new favorite dessert. He likes the dessert because you can eat anytime of the day, even before dinner.
